"Asymmetrical Botanicals" is a series that reimagines the intricate, symmetrical motifs of Mughal wall murals through the lens of personal memory and contemporary interpretation. Inspired by the lush flora of Delhi and Chandigarh observed during my walks, these works serve as decorative derivatives that challenge the traditional notions of symmetry by introducing asymmetry into both adjacent sides of the visual. The works explore how slight deviations from symmetry can create new narratives within familiar visual forms. The rigid, structured forms of Mughal motifs are juxtaposed with fluid, organic reflections, creating a visual dialogue between order and spontaneity, tradition and reinvention. This approach breathes modernity into heritage, creating a dialogue between the past and the present.
